I have been reading book after book on photography (my current favorite is The Digital Photography Book by Scott Kelby). One theme emerging is the simplicity of composition – applicable whether your favorite camera is your phone, a point and shoot or a DSLR.

Frame your shot.
Framing is very simply the process of using objects within your photograph to “frame” your primary subject. It brings depth to your picture drawing your eye to the photo’s main subject.
Photograph a face through a window frame. Or use tunnels, gates, natural elements or whatever you can find. Here are a few framing examples from my photo archives.
