I seem to have an iron grip on summer resisting pumpkin latte’s and cider donuts. I want to run, paddle board and spray paint outside for many more Midwestern weeks!
I started this project with the intent of creating a giant hub for organizing the life of our family. As usual the project took twists and turns and the end result is a large display for photos! Organization will have to wait.
About ten years ago I invested in a giant bulletin board at Office Max. It served as a display hub for the girls’ art, favorite photos and precious mementos. Back then I added a thick white boards to frame it up; making it less “office” and more “pretty.” It worked its magic for years… but has been sitting in the corner collecting dust since we moved last summer.
I started by applying a fresh coat of black paint. Once dry, I distressed the edges. Next I applied a spray adhesive to the cork and attached burlap fabric; gently tucking it under the wooden frame. It is now living on a lonely wall in our kitchen. This up-cycle required: black paint, burlap (I found mine at Hobby Lobby) and furniture tacks to attach the photos! Easy!
I bet you have a lonely cork board lying around ready for a makeover. I would love to hear about your re-purpose!
