‘Hope’ is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul.
And sings the tune without words and never stops – at all.
– Emily Dickinson
Today started with a trail run along side a fellow Ann’s Hope board member… We literally stopped in our tracks after spotting a tiny egg shell on the ground. A beautiful symbol of hatching hope.
I am using a tiny canvas – Scrabble tiles are the base for hope necklaces. I am hopeful (pun intended) that these become treasures for someone and maybe, just maybe, the donations from this Ann’s Hope event crack the code on melanoma. Too many people are affected by this devastating diagnosis.
Did you know?
Skin cancer is the most common of all cancers. It accounts for nearly half of all cancers in the United States. More than 2 million cases of basal and squamous cell skin cancer are found in this country each year. Melanoma, the most serious type of skin cancer, will account for more than 75,000 cases of skin cancer in 2012. (source: American Cancer Society)
