“Taking pictures is savoring life intensely,
every hundredth of a second.”
Are you dedicated to capturing life’s little moments with your camera?
This morning I was perched on a bridge in the soft morning light. The severe cold (-4) created a gentle layer of steam on the winding river ahead. After snapping a few photos, I peaked at my camera’s screen to evaluate each image… only to find “no card in camera” illuminated on the screen. Um… missed the moment. I have had several recent situations where moments evaporate while my SD card is attached to my Mac instead of my camera. Perhaps this never happens to you.
Apparently I need a tiny spare.
I drilled a teeny tiny hole into the SD card’s case and used a jewelry wire to attach the case to the camera strap ring. I couldn’t stop with a sweet functional solution. I had to make it “cute,” adding a tiny photo to each side. Weird, I know!
- Ready for a peak at my other project?
I made a 11 x 14 print of the this very old family photo (look at that shape – no date so I am not sure when it was “developed” but it has some history).
I trimmed my print to fit a black saddle stool’s contoured seat.
Next, I will finish with a few coats of sealer (polyurethane).
Now I will step away… before I wallpaper with photos.
I hope you enjoy many splendid moments this weekend.
I am in love with both these ideas. First of all I cannot even begin to tell you how many shots I have missed because my camera card is in the side of my laptop. UGHHHHH. AND, I happen to have that same stool in my kitchen, just one, and my kitchen has 0% personality. This is the perfect solution! I love your creative application of an old black & white family photo – so fun and meaningful! Thanks so much for sharing at Best of the Nest.
I am loving these tips. I have a box full of old photos my Mum asked me to scan for her, you have inspired me to action. Thanks
This is so smart! I don’t usually have that problem with my SD card but know a lot of people probably do. I also really like that stool idea, I’m going to have to try that on something in the house.
LOVE both of these! You are so clever to bring an extra memory card like that. 🙂
