Some of my favorite childhood memories involve camping near Decorah, Iowa with a cluster of family friends.   We had what seemed like endless freedom to roam, hike the nearby hill, canoe, bike, trout fish (Velveta cheese balls were our bait!), explore…!   Pure childhood bliss.

This weekend we are honoring the memory of Glenda, a fellow Decorah camper from an amazing family.   A benefit in her honor is planned in my hometown with all proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society.  Today I humbly ask for you to please say a prayer for Glenda’s daughters: Brianna and Amber and Glenda’s entire family.  In fact, please pray for every family affected by the devastation cancer creates.

Today I will simply include a few photos of the project that  resulted in several candles which I am bringing to the benefit this weekend.  I edited a group photo; adjusting the focus to shine on Glenda.  With gratitude….

I started with waterslide decal paper.

The image separates from the paper backing. In this image I left Glenda in color and everyone else is in black & white.
