“Everyone and everything that shows up in our life

is a reflection of something that is happening inside of us.”

-Alan Cohen

Honored to attend the Women for MACC’s annual Couture for a Cure benefit today including fashion, food, and fund-raising for a wonderful cause.  The holiday 2012 MACC*Star was unveiled by its ten-year-old designer, Maggie Conlon.  It was heart wrenching to hear her story.  She was born with cancer and endured 18 months of chemotherapy as a baby.  Now ten, she is a survivor.   Last year’s inspired MACC Star designer was Jack Bartosz.  The flood of memories was a poignant reminder that with childhood cancer the stakes are immeasurable and the pain is unbearable.

I used the Shazam app on my phone to tag a few songs during the fashion show. When I returned home the songs didn’t resonate as much outside the event setting.  I did find a song I tagged back in June that summarizes where my heart is today.
Every Heart by Sara Haze:
Every heart has a story to tell
Some dreams have wings,
some are torn at the seams
and just sit there on the shelf,
If you were to walk in my shoes
You’d see we are all the same,
So find the love inside yourself
Cause every heart has a story to tell.

And, I worked on a mirror.  This was an “essential” project as there are no mirrors at the new house.
