I loved creating mix tapes back in the day.  Oddly I still have some and it was fun to peak back at them and see my clever (ha) names for each. What a flood of memories.  Obviously I transitioned to mix cds and created several over the years with a “running” theme for various runs and marathons.  Tonight I assembled my all-time favorite running cds into one playlist for my new phone.  I tried sorting the list into segments… Like my top ten all-time favorites, most inspired, best running cadence, etc. but all that slicing and sorting left me second guessing my choices and I abandoned the effort.
Couple comments though… My current favorite song is Echos by One Direction so I included a link.  And, I have a favorite story related to Highway to Hell and why it made the cut for my playlist.   During a half-marathon in Des Moines I was running with a woman in her mid-sixties. As we chatted I asked what she was listening to on her iPod.  She responded that it was all AC/DC for long runs.  I love the conversations that ensue with random strangers when running.  In a race or on a trail, runners connect.
