Recital weekend for the studio where my daughter spends a lot of time! This is, hands down, her favorite “art” form and the love extends to all genres: jazz, contemporary, tap, ballet, pointe and hip hop. As a music enthusiast, I loved the show’s theme Hits to History! There were current hits – a Lady Gaga medley complete with little monster masks and Dog Days Are Over by Florence & the Machine. True rock classics (Aerosmith’s Dream On) and clever new twists on old favorites like Jay Z’s Hard Knock Life. There were tears when Louis Armstrong sang What a Wonderful World and Elleri and her fellow pointe dancers flawlessly executed their performance. Beautiful! Tonight was an honor to watch every single dancer grace the stage and shine. My absolute favorite part was that the dancers appeared to love the opportunity to perform and they overflowed with positive energy and contagious enthusiasm. Very proud of Elleri and all her amazing fellow dancers! Grateful today for her talented instructors and the gifts dance brings to her life.
